GARLIC POTATOES GRATIN

Garlic Potatoes Gratin image

An unbelievable rich twist on au gratin potatoes, this casserole develops a caramelized, cheesy, roasted-garlic crust as it bakes. However, this dish does not save well (leftovers tend to separate and become oily), so eat up! Wonderful with a ham dinner.

Tips:

  • For a crispy potato crust, use Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes and slice them thinly and evenly. Soaking the potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking will help them crisp up.
  • To prevent the potatoes from sticking to the baking dish, grease the dish with butter or cooking spray. You can also line the dish with parchment paper.
  • If you don't have fresh cream, you can use milk or half-and-half instead. However, the sauce will be thinner and less flavorful.
  • For a vegetarian version of this dish, omit the bacon. You can also add other vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower, or carrots.
  • Serve the garlic potato bake with a green salad or roasted vegetables.

Conclusion:

Garlic potato bake is a classic comfort food dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its creamy sauce, crispy potato crust, and garlicky flavor, this dish is sure to satisfy everyone at the table. Next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give this garlic potato bake a try.
