Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Waxy potatoes like Yukon Golds or Red Bliss hold their shape better than starchy potatoes when roasted, making them ideal for this recipe.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: This will ensure that they cook evenly.
  • Toss the potatoes in olive oil and garlic: This will help them to brown and develop flavor.
  • Season the potatoes liberally with salt and pepper: Don't be afraid to be generous with the seasoning, as it will help to bring out the flavor of the potatoes.
  • Roast the potatoes at a high temperature: This will help them to get crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
  • Add the ham and cheese towards the end of the cooking time: This will prevent them from drying out.
  • Serve the potatoes hot: They are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven.

Conclusion:

Garlic potatoes and ham is a classic dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. The combination of crispy potatoes, savory ham, and melted cheese is irresistible. This recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.
