Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (18.25 oz) german chocolate cake mix
1 (15 oz) can coconut pecan icing
4 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1 cup water

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350*. Grease and flour a 12 cup tube pan or bundt pan. Mix all ingredients (including the icing) in mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour into prepared pan and bake 55-60 minutes. Remove from oven to wire rack and allow to cool 10 minutes. Invert onto serving plate and dust with powdered sugar.
  • 2. This makes a large cake so be sure to use the large 12 cup pan. Very moist and delicious.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate and cocoa powder for a rich, flavorful icing.
  • Be careful not to overcook the sugar syrup, as this can cause the icing to become grainy.
  • Allow the icing to cool slightly before spreading it on the cake, as this will help to prevent it from becoming too runny.
  • If the icing is too thick, you can thin it out by adding a little bit of milk or cream.
  • For a smooth, glossy finish, you can strain the icing before using it.
  • Store the icing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

German chocolate icing is a delicious, versatile icing that can be used on a variety of cakes and desserts. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. Whether you prefer a classic chocolate icing or something a little more decadent, there is a German chocolate icing recipe out there for you.
