Slow Cooker, Easy Baked Potato Soup image

I love this recipe in my slow cooker, especially since there is minimal prep. No bacon to fry, so the slow cooker is the only dish you will get dirty. If you have dry ranch mix on hand, I have really enjoyed this variation!

Tips:

  • Prep your ingredients beforehand: Before you start cooking, measure out all the necessary ingredients and have them ready. This will help you save time and ensure that everything is properly measured.
  • Use russet potatoes for a creamy texture: Russet potatoes have a high starch content, which results in a smooth, creamy soup. Yukon gold potatoes can also be used, but they will give the soup a slightly different texture.
  • Cook the potatoes until they are fork-tender: Overcooked potatoes will become mushy, so be careful not to overcook them. Simply pierce the potatoes with a fork to check their doneness.
  • Don't overcrowd the slow cooker: Make sure to leave enough space in the slow cooker for the potatoes to cook evenly. Overcrowding the slow cooker can result in uneven cooking and a watery soup.
  • Use low heat for a richer flavor: Cooking the soup on low heat for a longer period of time will allow the flavors to meld together and develop a richer taste.
  • Add your favorite toppings: Once the soup is cooked, you can add a variety of toppings to your liking. Some popular toppings include shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, green onions, and sour cream.

Conclusion:

Gina's baked potato soup is a delicious and comforting dish that is perfect for a cold winter day. The soup is easy to make and can be easily customized to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make the best baked potato soup that will warm your heart and soul.
