Number Of Ingredients 5

2 c sugar
1/2 c water
2 Tbsp margarine
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 qt popcorn, popped

Steps:

  • 1. Boil to sugar and water to softball stage.
  • 2. Remove from heat and add Margerine, vanilla and food coloring of your choice.
  • 3. Pour over pop corn and mix well.

Tips:

  • Use fresh popcorn kernels. Fresh kernels will pop better and have a better flavor than old kernels.
  • Heat the oil until it is shimmering. This will help the popcorn kernels to pop evenly.
  • Add the popcorn kernels to the hot oil and cover the pot. This will help to trap the heat and ensure that all of the kernels pop.
  • Shake the pot occasionally. This will help to distribute the heat evenly and prevent the popcorn from burning.
  • Remove the popcorn from the heat when it is finished popping. If you leave it on the heat for too long, it will start to burn.
  • Season the popcorn to taste. You can use melted butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, or any other seasonings that you like.
  • Serve the popcorn immediately. Popcorn is best served fresh and warm.
