4 slices (about 4 ounces) bacon, diced
1 (27 ounce) can sauerkraut
1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
Optional garnish: caraway seeds; chopped fresh parsley; chopped fresh dill

Steps:

  • Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Cook bacon until crispy (about 5-10 minutes).
  • Drain off most of the bacon grease, leaving about 1 teaspoon in the bottom of the pot.
  • Drain sauerkraut, but reserve the liquid from the can.
  • Place drained sauerkraut and brown sugar in the pot with the bacon. Heat over low heat until warmed through and sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally. Add enough of the reserved liquid from the sauerkraut until the dish reaches the desired consistency. Serve right away, or cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

1 yellow onion (diced)
1 lb ground beef
Salt and pepper to taste
1 large zucchini
2-3 cups sauerkraut
2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
2 ¾ cups beef stock (or broth)
1 ¾ cups whole milk
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire
1 cup flour

1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 can (32 ounces) sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained
2 cups uncooked egg noodles
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 cup whole milk
1 to 1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook the beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the salt and pepper. Spoon half of beef mixture into a 13x9-in. baking dish. 1 lb wide egg noodles (1 standard size package, alfredo style noodles would also work)
1 (16 ounce) jar sauerkraut (use smaller or larger depending on how much you like sauerkraut)
2 (10 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
10 ounces milk (enough for one soup can's worth)
1 (8 ounce) package shredded cheese, any kind you like

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef.

1 lb hamburger
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
2/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
12 ounces egg noodles, cooked 5 minutes, and drained
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 (15 ounce) can canned sauerkraut, drained

Steps:

  • Brown hamburger and onion, salt and pepper, drain. Add soups and milk. Stir.
  • Cook noodles, partially, about 5 minutes. They will finish cooking during baking time.

1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 cup diced celery
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup

½ cup milk
½ cup salted cashews
