GREAT GRILLED GARLIC BREAD

Great Grilled Garlic Bread image

So simple and so good. My wife and I always freeze our leftover baguettes and sometime they do not thaw quite as fresh, so I tried grilling the bread and used the abundance of fresh basil I have in my garden. It was a hit the first time we tried this and still is, and is now is our summertime favorite, for fresh and leftover bread alike.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients, especially the bread and butter. Fresh, crusty bread will make a big difference in the final product.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of bread, such as sourdough or rye. You can also use a baguette or even pizza dough.
  • Use a generous amount of butter on the bread. This will help it to brown and crisp up nicely in the oven.
  • Add your favorite herbs and spices to the butter for extra flavor. Garlic powder, oregano, and basil are all popular choices.
  • If you're using a toaster oven, watch the garlic bread closely so that it doesn't burn.
  • Serve garlic bread immediately after it's done baking, while it's still warm and crispy.
