Tips:

  • Choosing the Right Green Beans: Look for vibrant green beans that snap easily when you bend them. Avoid limp or discolored beans.
  • Prepping the Green Beans: Trim the ends of the green beans and cut them into 2-inch pieces. If you prefer longer beans, leave them whole.
  • Cooking the Green Beans: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the beans are tender-crisp. Drain the beans and rinse them with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  • Slicing the Mushrooms: Slice the mushrooms into thin slices. You can use any type of mushroom you like, such as cremini, shiitake, or oyster mushrooms.
  • Sautéing the Mushrooms: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the mushrooms. Cook the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes, or until they are softened and lightly browned.
  • Making the Balsamic Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar, sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the glaze is thickened and syrupy.
  • Assembling the Dish: Add the cooked green beans, sautéed mushrooms, and balsamic glaze to a large bowl. Toss to combine.
  • Garnishing and Serving: Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley over the green beans before serving. Serve immediately.

This Green Beans with Mushrooms, Balsamic, and Parmesan recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion.
