1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
¾ teaspoon ground cumin
¾ teaspoon kosher salt
¾ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon chili powder
2 (6 ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 ½ tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 medium ripe avocado, diced

1 teaspoon lime juice, or to taste
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling.
  • Choose Ripe Avocados: For the best flavor and texture, use ripe avocados that are slightly firm to the touch. Avoid avocados that are too hard or too soft.
  • Slice Chicken Thinly: To ensure even cooking, slice the chicken breasts thinly. You can use a sharp knife or a meat slicer to achieve thin, even slices.
  • Use Good Quality Bread: The bread you use for the napoleons is important. Choose a sturdy bread that will hold up well to the other ingredients. Ciabatta or French bread are both good options.
  • Don't Overcook the Chicken: Chicken breasts can dry out quickly, so be careful not to overcook them. Cook them just until they are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Use Fresh Herbs: Fresh herbs, such as basil, cilantro, or parsley, add a lot of flavor to the napoleons. If you can, use fresh herbs instead of dried herbs.

Conclusion:

Grilled Chicken and Avocado Napoleons are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or light meal. They are perfect for summer parties or picnics. With a few simple tips, you can make sure that your napoleons turn out perfect every time. So fire up your grill and get cooking!
