Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken: Look for thighs and drumsticks that are plump and have a good amount of meat on them. Avoid any pieces that are bruised or have freezer burn.
  • Prepare the chicken: Rinse the chicken pieces under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This will help the marinade to adhere better to the chicken.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: There are many different marinades that you can use for grilled chicken thighs and drumsticks. Some popular options include olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, herbs, and spices. You can also use a store-bought marinade if you're short on time.
  • Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes: This will give the marinade time to penetrate the chicken and flavor it throughout. You can marinate the chicken for up to 24 hours if you have the time.
  • Preheat your grill: Before you start cooking the chicken, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. This will help to prevent the chicken from sticking to the grill.
  • Grill the chicken: Place the chicken pieces on the grill and cook them for 10-12 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through. You can check the chicken for doneness by inserting a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the meat. The chicken is cooked through when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the chicken rest: Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the chicken, making it even more flavorful.

Conclusion:

Grilled chicken thighs and drumsticks are a delicious and easy-to-make meal. By following these tips, you can ensure that your chicken is cooked perfectly every time. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give grilled chicken thighs and drumsticks a try.
