THE GREATEST GRILLED TURKEY

The Greatest Grilled Turkey image

Although not very traditional, grilling turkey is the best way of cooking it -- it comes out tender and juicy every time! The turkey drippings may be used to prepare a gravy by placing a metal pan under the turkey inside the roasting pan, and mixing in about 1/2 cup water, adding more water as necessary to prevent the drippings from scorching. Remove the pan about 30 minutes before the turkey is done cooking.

Tips:

  • Choose the right turkey tenderloin: Look for tenderloins that are about 1 pound each and have a uniform shape. Avoid tenderloins that are too thin or have any blemishes.
  • Marinate the turkey tenderloin: Marinating the turkey tenderloin in a flavorful marinade will help to keep it moist and juicy during grilling. You can use a variety of marinades, but some popular options include olive oil, lemon juice, herbs, and spices.
  • Preheat your grill: Before you start grilling the turkey tenderloin, make sure your grill is preheated to medium-high heat. This will help to sear the outside of the turkey tenderloin and prevent it from sticking to the grill.
  • Grill the turkey tenderloin: Once the grill is preheated, place the turkey tenderloin on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Baste the turkey tenderloin with the marinade or a mixture of olive oil and herbs during grilling to keep it moist.
  • Let the turkey tenderloin rest: Once the turkey tenderloin is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the turkey tenderloin, making it more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Grilled turkey tenderloin is a delicious and healthy meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. By following these tips, you can grill a perfect turkey tenderloin every time.
