HAM AND CHEESE WRAPS

This recipe is adapted from a Pampered Chef recipe out of their 2004 Spring / Summer "Season's Best" cookbook. The original recipe calls for iceburg lettuce, tomatoes and green bell peppers, but I have made some changes to adapt for our family's taste. This is a great base start and the combination possabilities are endless.

Provided by rossboys

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 can Pillsbury™ refrigerated Classic Pizza Crust
3/4 lb deli ham (thinly sliced, but not shaved)
12 slices Swiss cheese (thinly sliced)
Glaze
1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Steps:

  • 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. 2.Unroll the pizza dough onto a cutting board and press into approximately a 13×18-inch rectangle. Top with ham and cheese slices. Starting on the longer side of the rectangle, roll up the edge tightly. When you reach the end, pinch the seam together and flip the roll so that the seam is face down. Cut into 12 slices, approximately 1-inch wide. Arrange in prepared baking dish. 3.Next combine the butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and poppy seeds in a sauce pan over medium heat. Whisk until the butter is melted and the glaze is smooth and combined. Pour evenly over the rolls. 4.Cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours or bake, uncovered for 25 minutes until golden and browned. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • To ensure even cooking, use thinly sliced ham and cheese.
  • Spread a thin layer of butter or mayonnaise on the tortillas to prevent them from becoming dry and brittle.
  • Add your favorite seasonings and spices to the cream cheese mixture for extra flavor.
  • Experiment with different types of bread or wraps, such as pita bread, flatbread, or even crescent roll dough.
  • Get creative with your toppings. Try adding sliced avocado, diced tomatoes, crumbled bacon, or a drizzle of honey mustard.
  • For a healthier option, use whole-wheat tortillas and low-fat cheese.

Conclusion:

Ham and cheese wraps are a versatile and delicious meal that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a variety of fillings and toppings to choose from, the possibilities are endless. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give ham and cheese wraps a try.
