GROUND BEEF SUKIYAKI

Ground Beef Sukiyaki image

This is one of DH's faves. I have cooked this many times for company and get raves. It looks like a lot of work, reading the recipe, but it is easy easy. We don't like water chestnuts or bamboo shoots, so I omit them. I have had this recipe forever, but it looks like I must have found it on an A.1. bottle or ad. I tried it with other steak sauces, but we didn't like it. The recipe says 8 servings, but the 2 of us finish it off with no trouble.

### Key Difference: Hamburger vs. Beef Hamburger and ground are not technically different. Hamburger is a specific type of ground meat. It is a patty formed from ground meat. It is typically made from a mixture of ground chuck, sirloin, and brisket, with a fat content of 20% or more. The fat content of ground chuck alone is usually 15-20%, but it can be mixed with other ground meats to achieve a fat content upwards of 30%. ### How to Make a Hamburger Patty 1. Start with good quality ground chuck. 2. Season the meat with salt, black and white peppers, and maybe some minced, fresh or dry herbs. 3. Form the meat into patties. A typical hamburger patty is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick and 3 to 4 inches in diameter. 4. Cook the patties over medium heat until they are done to your liking. ### How to Use Hamburger * Hamburgers can be used in a variety of ways. They can be grilled, pan-friend, or baked. * Hamburgers can be served on a bun with your favorite toppings, such as cheese, lettuce, tomato, and bacon. * Hamburgers can also be used in casseroles, soups, and stews. ### Other Uses of Beef * Beef can also be used to make other popular meat patties like salisbury steaks, meatballs, and meatloaf. * It can be used in a variety of other popular meat forms like sausages or hot dogs. * It can also be used in more uncommon meat preparations like jerky. ### The Verdict Hamburger and ground are not technically different. Hamburger is just a type of ground meat that’s formed into a patty. It can be referred to as ground meat in a casual sense, and used in place of ground meat in most applications. However, a recipe specifically calling for ground meat should not be made with hamburger unless the cook wants the result to be a patty.
