HEAVENLY HOT DOG SAUCE

Heavenly Hot Dog Sauce image

This is my family's favorite hotdog sauce. It originates from West Virginia. We like it with a bite, but you can adjust it to your taste. We top the hotdogs with ketchup, mustard, the hotdog sauce, and finally some chopped onions...YUM! This recipe makes enough for freezing and using later.

Tips:

  • Choose the right hot dogs. A good quality, all-beef hot dog will make a big difference in the final flavor of your dish.
  • Don't overcook the hot dogs. Overcooked hot dogs will be tough and chewy. Cook them just until they are heated through.
  • Use a variety of toppings. The toppings are what really make a hot dog special. Get creative and try different combinations until you find your favorites.
  • Make your own hot dog sauce. A homemade hot dog sauce is easy to make and will be much more flavorful than store-bought sauce.
  • Serve hot dogs with your favorite sides. Some popular sides for hot dogs include potato chips, coleslaw, and baked beans.

Conclusion:

Hot dogs are a classic American food that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are a versatile food that can be dressed up or down, depending on your taste. With so many different topping and sauce options, there are endless possibilities for creating a delicious hot dog that everyone will enjoy.
