VEGETARIAN STUFFING

I take this to our family gathering for the holidays. Everyone likes it - the meat eaters don't miss the giblets. You can make it vegan by deleting the mushroom soup and increasing the broth, also use no/low fat soup if you like. Chopped walnuts can be substituted for chopped pecans.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of vegetables to add flavor and texture to your stuffing. Some good options include carrots, celery, onions, mushrooms, and leeks.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different herbs and spices. Sage, thyme, rosemary, and marjoram are all classic stuffing herbs, but you can also try using more exotic spices like cumin, coriander, or smoked paprika.
  • Make sure your stuffing is moist. You can do this by adding a little broth or water, or by using moist vegetables like zucchini or tomatoes.
  • Don't overstuff your bird. The stuffing should be loose and fluffy, so it has room to expand during cooking.
  • If you're not stuffing your bird, you can bake the stuffing in a casserole dish. Just be sure to cover it with foil so it doesn't dry out.

Conclusion:

Vegetarian stuffing is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It's a great way to add flavor and texture to your holiday meal, and it's also a good way to use up leftover vegetables. So next time you're looking for a side dish that's both delicious and nutritious, give vegetarian stuffing a try.
