Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best results. This means using real butter, pure vanilla extract, and fresh rum. For the chocolate coating, use a good-quality semisweet or dark chocolate.
  • Make sure to chill the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it into balls. This will help the cookies hold their shape better.
  • If you don't have time to chill the cookie dough, you can freeze it for up to 2 months. Just thaw it overnight in the refrigerator before rolling it into balls.
  • Be careful not to overmix the cookie dough. Overmixing will make the cookies tough.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before dipping them in chocolate. This will help the chocolate set properly.
  • You can decorate the cookies with sprinkles, chopped nuts, or other toppings before the chocolate sets.
  • Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Holiday rum cookie balls are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for any holiday gathering. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make sure that your holiday rum cookie balls are perfect every time.
