Tips:
- Choose the right ham: Select a fully cooked ham that is labeled "bone-in" and "shank-end." This type of ham will be the easiest to carve and will provide the most meat.
- Prepare the ham: Remove the plastic wrap and any packaging from the ham. If the ham has a glaze, rinse it off with cold water and pat the ham dry with paper towels.
- Score the ham: Use a sharp knife to score the ham in a diamond pattern. This will help the glaze penetrate the ham and create a more flavorful crust.
- Make the glaze: In a small bowl, combine the honey, brown sugar, orange juice, and spices. Mix well.
- Glaze the ham: Brush the ham all over with the glaze. Place the ham in a roasting bag.
- Cook the ham: Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Place the roasting bag in a large roasting pan. Bake the ham for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
- Let the ham rest: Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before carving.
