WISCONSIN MAPLE AND CLOVER HONEY GLAZED HAM

Wisconsin Maple and Clover Honey Glazed Ham image

Time 35m

Yield 2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup maple syrup
1 cup clover honey
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground mustard

Steps:

  • Cook ham according to package directions.
  • Mix together all ingredients listed above for the glaze.
  • Brush glaze on ham when 30 minutes of cook time remain.
  • Continue baking ham uncovered until cooked through.

Tips:

- To ensure your ham is cooked evenly, use a meat thermometer to check its internal temperature. It should reach 140°F (60°C) for a medium-rare ham, 145°F (63°C) for a medium ham, or 150°F (66°C) for a well-done ham. - If you don't have a meat thermometer, you can check the ham's doneness by inserting a fork or skewer into the thickest part of the meat. If the juices run clear, the ham is done. - To make the glaze, use a combination of honey, maple syrup, and brown sugar. This will give it a sweet and sticky flavor. - You can also add other spices to the glaze, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, or cloves. - Baste the ham with the glaze every 15-20 minutes during the cooking process. This will help to keep it moist and prevent it from drying out. - If you're using a bone-in ham, be sure to score the skin before baking. This will help the glaze to penetrate the meat and give it more flavor. - Let the ham rest for at least 15 minutes before carving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Honey-maple glazed ham is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that's perfect for any special occasion. With its sweet and sticky glaze, it's sure to be a hit with your family and friends. So next time you're looking for a special meal to serve, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
