  • Combine the hot sauce, cider, cider syrup, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne in a large saucepan. Cook for 30 to 45 minutes on medium heat.

1-HOUR BUFFALO CHICKEN WINGS RECIPE BY TASTY

1-Hour Buffalo Chicken Wings Recipe by Tasty image

Think of this as your classic go-to recipe the next time you're in the mood for buffalo chicken wings. But here's the twist-they're baked, not fried. To replicate that deep-fried texture, these wings are tossed with spices and baking powder before they go in the oven. They turn out super crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Be sure to look for aluminum-free baking powder to avoid a metallic taste in your wings.

1/8 teaspoon pepper, Ground
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (omit if you don't want it too spicy)
1 teaspoon salt
chicken breast, cut into 1 inch pieces fat trimmed off
vegetable oil, for frying
1 cup butter
1/2 cup hot sauce
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Trim breasts and cut into 1 inch chunks.
  • Combine the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt in a LARGE bowl.

  • Put the wings into the large bowl of flour mixture, coating each wing evenly.
  • dip into mixture of butter and hot sauce, then again into flour mixture. place all the "wings" on a plate and put them in the refrigerator for 60 to 90 minutes. (This will help the breading to stick to the wings when fried.).
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (You want just enough oil to cover the wings entirely -- an inch or so deep at least.).
  • Fry them for 10 to 15 minutes or until some parts of the wings begin to turn dark brown.
  • Remove the wings from the oil to a paper towel to drain, but don't let them sit too long because you want to serve the wings hot.
  • For Coating:.
  • Combine another 1 cup butter, 1/2 cup hot sauce, ground pepper, and garlic powder in a small saucepan over low heat. Heat until the butter is melted and the ingredients are well blended.
  • Quickly put the wings into a large bowl. *You could also use a large plastic container with a lid for this.
  • Add the coating mixture and stir, coating all the wings evenly or simply put all the wings inside the container with the lid, add the sauce, then shake.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples for different flavors. Granny Smith apples are tart, while Honeycrisp apples are sweet. You can also use a combination of apples for a more complex flavor.
  • Be sure to remove the seeds and cores from the apples before cooking. This will help prevent the wings from becoming bitter.
  • Cook the wings until they are cooked through but still juicy. Overcooked wings will be dry and tough.
  • Serve the wings hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, and honey mustard are all popular choices.

Conclusion:

Hot apple chicken wings are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for parties or game day. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a new appetizer to try, give hot apple chicken wings a try.
