2 quarts filtered apple juice
1 1/2 cups brewed black tea, such as english breakfast
1 1/2 cups apple brandy such as calvados
8 cinnamon sticks

  • Boil apple juice in a 4-5 quart heavy pot over high heat until syrupy and reduced to 1 1/2 cups, about 50 minutes.

  • Choose Your Alcohol Wisely: The type of alcohol you use in your hot toddy will significantly impact its flavor. Whiskey, brandy, and rum are all popular choices, but you can also experiment with other spirits like gin or vodka.
  • Sweeten to Taste: The amount of sweetener you add to your hot toddy is a matter of personal preference. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Garnish Your Toddy: A simple garnish can make your hot toddy look and taste even better. Try adding a lemon twist, an orange slice, or a cinnamon stick.
  • Serve Hot: A hot toddy is best enjoyed when it is hot and steaming. Serve it immediately after making it.
