Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb gr. beef
1 tsp salt
16 oz can pork & beans
3/4 c barbeque sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp instant minced onions
1 can(s) refrigerator biscuits
1 c shredded cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brown & drain beef & stir in next 5 ingredients. Heat to bubbly.
  • 2. Pour into 2 quart casserole dish. Place biscuits on top & gently push down lightly.
  • 3. Sprinkle with cheese & bake at 375 for 25-30 min.

Tips:

  • Choose the right type of ground beef. Ground chuck or ground sirloin are good options for this recipe because they have a good balance of fat and lean meat.
  • Brown the ground beef thoroughly. This will help to develop the flavor of the beef and prevent it from being greasy.
  • Use a flavorful sauce. The sauce is what really makes this casserole sing, so be sure to use one that you love. A good option is a tomato-based sauce with Italian seasoning.
  • Don't overcook the pasta. The pasta should be cooked al dente, or slightly firm to the bite. This will prevent it from becoming mushy in the casserole.
  • Layer the casserole carefully. Start with a layer of sauce, then add the pasta, ground beef, and cheese. Repeat the layers until all of the ingredients have been used.
  • Bake the casserole until it is bubbly and hot. This will usually take about 30 minutes.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before serving. This will help the cheese to set and prevent it from becoming runny.

Conclusion:

Hungry Jack casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover ground beef, pasta, and sauce. With its simple ingredients and classic flavor, Hungry Jack casserole is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
