Being a farm wife, I'm always looking for recipes that can go out to the field. I got this one a number of years ago from my friend who is also a farm wife. It's rich, creamy and filling.

Number Of Ingredients 9

10 ounces egg noodles
1 ½ pounds ground beef
1 (14.5 ounce) can peeled and diced tomatoes with juice
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 ½ cups sour cream
3 ounces cream cheese
½ onion, chopped
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add the tomatoes with juice, salt and sugar and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • In a separate medium bowl, combine the sour cream, cream cheese and onion and mix well. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, place half of the egg noodles, then all of the meat mixture, then the cream mixture. Top with the remaining noodles and sprinkle with the cheese.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 minutes.

1 cup flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1 stick butter
2 (8 oz) package cream cheese,softened
1 cup powdered sugar
2 (8 oz) package of cool whip
2 small packages of instant chocolate pudding
3 cups milk

Steps:

  • Mix together the flour, 1/2 cup pecans and butter. Put into bottom and sides of glass casserole and bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Let cool. Mix cream cheese, sugar and one cool whip.Put onto of crust. Mix pudding,and milk.When set put on top of cream cheese filling. Top with remaining 8 oz. of cool whip and 1/2 cup of pecans.

8 ounces uncooked whole wheat egg noodles
1-1/2 pounds extra-lean ground beef (95% lean)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
3 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 cups 2% cottage cheese
4 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese
1/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
3 green onions, chopped
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Cook noodles according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a Dutch oven, cook beef, onion, green pepper and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are tender; drain., Stir in the tomato sauce, sugar, salt and pepper. Drain noodles; stir into sauce. Pour half the beef mixture into a 13x9-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray., In a small bowl, combine the cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream and green onions. Spread over beef mixture. 24 ounces tomato sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup cottage cheese
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 medium onion, chopped fine
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/4 cup bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 (8 ounce) package wide egg noodles, cooked as directed
1 tablespoon sugar

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef, bell peppers, and garlic together and drain.
  • Cook noodles as directed then drain.
  • Add noodles, sugar, and tomato sauce to ground beef and stir.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pkg. spaghetti 1 8 oz. cream cheese
2 1/2 to 3 lbs. ground beef 1/2 pint sour cream
4 small cans tomato sauce salt
(add a little more if you use 3 lbs. beef) 1 full cup chopped green onions
2 tbs. Worstershire sauce 1 stick butter
1 carton cream style cottage cheese grated cheddar cheese to sprinkle on top

Steps:

  • * Boil and drain spaghetti under hot water. * Brown meat and drain. * To meat add tomato sauce, Worchestershire sauce and salt. Simmer at least 10 minutes. * Mix cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream and onions. * Melt butter (use a little to grease casserole dish) and pour over spaghetti. * Place 1/3 spaghetti in dish, then spread 1/3 cream cheese mixture, then 1/3 meat. (Can make only two layers of each if you want.) * Top with cheddar cheese. * Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until bubbly That is it. This makes a lot!
