Categories     Other Breakfast

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 7

12 slice bacon
1 c swiss cheese, shredded
1/3 c onion, chopped
3/4 c bisquick mix
1 1/2 c milk
3 large eggs
1/8 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 400°F. Grease 9-inch glass pie plate. Sprinkle bacon, cheese and onion into pie plate.
  • 2. In medium bowl, beat remaining ingredients until blended; pour into pie plate.
  • 3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Tips:

  • For a crispy bacon pie crust, pre-bake the crust for 10-12 minutes before adding the filling.
  • To prevent a soggy crust, brush the bottom of the crust with an egg wash before baking.
  • Use a variety of cheeses to add flavor and richness to the filling. A combination of cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan is a classic choice.
  • Cook the bacon until it is crispy, but not overcooked. Overcooked bacon will be tough and chewy.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the bacon into small pieces. This will help it distribute evenly throughout the filling.
  • Add some chopped fresh herbs, such as chives, parsley, or thyme, to the filling for extra flavor.
  • Serve the bacon pie warm, with a side of your favorite dipping sauce.

Conclusion:

Bacon pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. With a crispy crust, flavorful filling, and cheesy topping, it is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy meal, give bacon pie a try. You won't be disappointed!
