1 small onion, chopped
½ teaspoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon chili powder, or more to taste
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 head broccoli, chopped

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, firm broccoli: Look for broccoli crowns that are deep green in color and have tightly closed florets. Avoid broccoli that is yellowing or has wilted florets.
  • Cut the broccoli into uniform florets: This will help them cook evenly. If the florets are too large, they may not cook through properly.
  • Blanch the broccoli before stir-frying: This will help to preserve its color and crunch. To blanch the broccoli, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain the broccoli and immediately transfer it to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  • Use a hot wok or skillet: This will help to sear the broccoli and prevent it from becoming soggy. Make sure the wok or skillet is well-heated before adding the broccoli.
  • Stir-fry the broccoli in small batches: This will help to prevent the broccoli from overcrowding the pan and steaming instead of stir-frying.
  • Add the sauce to the broccoli at the end of cooking: This will help to prevent the sauce from burning. Stir the broccoli and sauce together until the broccoli is evenly coated.
  • Serve the broccoli immediately: Stir-fried broccoli is best served hot. You can garnish it with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, or a squeeze of lemon juice.

Conclusion:

Stir-fried broccoli is a delicious and healthy side dish that can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a larger meal. It is a good source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. By following these tips, you can make perfect stir-fried broccoli every time.
