Time 2h15m

Yield 24

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 ¾ cups semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons whiskey (such as Jack Daniel's®)

1 cup finely chopped pecans

Time 1h5m

Yield 12-14 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package butterscotch pudding mix
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
4 eggs
1/2 cup Jack Daniels Whiskey
1 (12 ounce) package almond toffee bits
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon Jack Daniels Whiskey

Steps:

  • Cake:.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix and instant pudding, then add oil, water, 1/2 cup Jack Daniel's and the eggs.
  • (I usually spill a little extra Jack in, not on purpose though) Mix until smooth, about 4 minutes.
  • Pour into a well greased bundt pan; tap the pan on solid surface several times to remove any trapped air bubbles.
  • Pour 1/2 of the toffee chips evenly over what would be the bottom of the cake.
  • Bake@350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
  • (you may want to enjoy a little Jack n'Coke while you wait for the cake to finish baking).
  • Cool 15 minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack and cool cake completely.
  • Frosting:.
  • Add powered sugar, melted butter, and 1 tablespoon Jack Daniel's and mix until lumps are gone.
  • You will have to add more Jack here, as it will be too thick to drizzle over the edges.
  • The frosting should just about run to the bottom before setting up (thickening).
  • (add a tablespoon or two, a little at a time to make it work) Pour remaining toffee bits over the wet frosting and push the bits inches.
  • Have another sip of Jack for a job well done!

Time 1h55m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 head garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 ⅓ cups dark brown sugar
1 cup pineapple juice
⅔ cup water
¼ cup teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons minced white onion
1 tablespoon bourbon whiskey
1 tablespoon crushed pineapple
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Cut about 1/2-inch from the top of the garlic head. Trim the roots so the garlic sits flat. Remove some of the outer layers of papery skin from the garlic, leaving enough so that the cloves stay together. Put garlic into a small casserole dish or baking dish, drizzle olive oil over it, and cover with a lid or aluminum foil.
  • Roast garlic in preheated oven until the cloves are soft, about 1 hour.
  • Stir brown sugar, pineapple juice, water, teriyaki sauce, and soy sauce together in a saucepan and bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and keep at simmer.
  • Squeeze sides of the garlic until the pasty roasted garlic emerges. Measure 2 teaspoons roasted garlic into the saucepan and incorporate into the sauce with a whisk. Reserve remaining roasted garlic for another use.
  • Stir lemon juice, white onion, bourbon whiskey, pineapple, and cayenne pepper into the sauce; bring to a simmer and cook until the volume of the liquid reduces by half and is thick and syrup-like, 40 to 50 minutes.

Tips:

  • Before preparing the frosting, ensure all ingredients, particularly the butter and cream cheese, are at room temperature. This allows for easier mixing and a smoother consistency.
  • Use unsalted butter to control the amount of saltiness in the frosting. Salted butter can be used, but it may require adjusting the amount of salt added to the frosting.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar to the butter and cream cheese mixture. Pouring it all at once can result in lumps forming.
  • Incorporate the Jack Daniel's whiskey gradually, tasting it as you go to achieve the desired whiskey flavor.
  • If the frosting becomes too thin, chill it for a few minutes to firm it up. Conversely, if it's too thick, let it sit at room temperature for a while or add a touch of milk or cream.
  • For a richer frosting, use heavy cream instead of milk. However, this will result in a slightly thinner frosting.
  • Store the frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. To use, let it come to room temperature for about an hour before spreading.

Conclusion:

Jack Daniel's frosting is a versatile and delicious topping that can elevate various desserts. Its unique whiskey flavor adds a sophisticated touch, making it perfect for special occasions or everyday treats. With its ease of preparation and customizable flavor profile, this frosting is a must-try for bakers of all levels. Experiment with different Jack Daniel's whiskey variants or incorporate additional flavors like vanilla, chocolate, or nuts to create endless variations that will impress your taste buds and those of your loved ones.
