3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
colored crystal sugar, if desired
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 -3 1/2 tablespoons milk

Steps:

  • In large bowl, mix 1 cup sugar, the butter, 3 tablespoons milk, vanilla and egg until well-blended.
  • Stir in flour, baking powder and salt until mixed.
  • Cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate 1 hour for easier handling.
