LAURA'S MEATLOAF
This is one of the first meals I made when I started out cooking for my husband. I was lucky to come across this recipe for meatloaf in a church cookbook because it is one of our favorites even today. I have tried other meatloafs but none of them taste like this one...

- This was really good- very moist.
- When I removed it from the oven the baking pan was full of fat.
- I didn't pour it off; just let the meatloaf sit and soak it back up.
- Lana's Note: We like our meatloaf a little drier, so I drained off the fat.
- I have tried this recipe both ways& both are very good.
PAULA DEEN'S OLD-FASHIONED MEATLOAF
My favorite meatloaf recipe. Try using a mixture of ground beef, lamb, veal or pork instead of all beef.

Steps:
- preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- mix all ingredients except ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar.
- place into baking dish and shape into loaf.
- mix ketchup, mustard and brown sugar.
- spread on loaf.
- bake for 1 hour.
Tips:
- Choose the right ground meat: A combination of ground beef and ground pork is a classic choice for meatloaf, but you can also use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Use fresh, quality ingredients: The better the quality of your ingredients, the better your meatloaf will taste. Look for fresh, lean ground meat and use high-quality seasonings and spices.
- Don't overmix the meatloaf mixture: Overmixing can make the meatloaf tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Shape the meatloaf into a loaf shape: This will help it cook evenly. You can also use a loaf pan if you prefer.
- Bake the meatloaf at a high temperature: This will help create a nice crust on the outside while keeping the inside moist.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing: This will help the juices redistribute and make the meatloaf easier to slice.
Conclusion:
Meatloaf is a classic comfort food that is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious and moist meatloaf that your family and friends will love. So next time you're looking for a hearty and satisfying meal, give meatloaf a try.
