6 slices bacon, each cut into 4 pieces
8 tablespoons butter
6 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
1 loaf crusty Italian bread, cut into 24 slices, about 1/2-inch thick
3/4 lb mozzarella cheese, cut into 2 pieces and each cut into 12 slices

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Coat 2 large baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray.

1 c mushrooms,sliced
6 cloves garlic,minced
salt and pepper
1/4 c parmesan cheese
parsley,chopped
long loaf of sourdough bread
tomatoes,sliced
mozzarella cheese slices

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oil,add butter till melted,add mushrooms,salt and pepper to taste,cook until soft. Add garlic and cook 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat, add parsley and Parmesan cheese. Split loaf of bread lengthwise. Spread mushrooms and butter mixture on each half. Add tomato slices down length of bread,season tomatoes with salt and pepper,top with mozzarella slices. Heat under broiler until bread is toasted and cheese is melted.
