LOW-CARB BACON AND EGG QUICHE

Low-Carb Bacon and Egg Quiche image

I'm trying to go low-carb, and I found this recipe on Recipegal.com. It's so easy to make and tastes great! We use cheddar as nobody likes swiss cheese but me. It originally calls for a quiche pan, but I just used a 9-inch pie pan with great results! I also sprayed it with non-stick canola cooking spray, instead of the butter as the recipe originally called for.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality bacon. Thick-cut bacon will give your quiche a more satisfying texture, and it will also be less likely to shrink and curl up in the oven.
  • Don't overcook the bacon. You want it to be cooked through, but not so crispy that it's hard to chew.
  • Use fresh eggs. Fresh eggs will give your quiche a richer flavor and a more tender texture.
  • Don't overbeat the eggs. Overbeaten eggs will make your quiche tough.
  • Use a good quality cheese. The type of cheese you use will greatly affect the flavor of your quiche. Use a cheese that you enjoy the taste of and that melts well.
  • Don't overfill the quiche crust. If you overfill it, the quiche will puff up and may overflow during baking.
  • Bake the quiche until it is set in the center. A toothpick inserted into the center of the quiche should come out clean.
  • Let the quiche cool slightly before serving. This will help it to set and make it easier to slice.

Conclusion:

This low-carb bacon and egg quiche is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. It's perfect for meal prep, as it can be made ahead of time and reheated later. The quiche is also a great source of protein and healthy fats, making it a nutritious choice for those on a low-carb diet.
