VELVEETA ULTIMATE MACARONI AND CHEESE

Velveeta Ultimate Macaroni and Cheese image

I got this off a box of Velveeta Cheese when I saw it made on Good Morning America. The recipe is exact, i haven't changed it. I usually buy the large block of Velveeta cheese and store any unused cheese in ziploc bags, so I'm forever searching for the recipe. It's easy and fast. My family swears it tastes just like KFC! You can also put the Macaroni and Cheese in a greased casserole dish and make a topping out of 1 sleeve of crushed Ritz Crackers and 1 stick of melted butter. Combine and then sprinkle on top of casserole. Bake in 350 degree oven till top is golden brown.

SLOW-COOKER VELVEETA® MACARONI AND CHEESE RECIPE - (3.8/5)

Slow-Cooker VELVEETA® Macaroni and Cheese Recipe - (3.8/5) image

Provided by á-48726

Number Of Ingredients 5

3-1/2 cups milk
2-1/2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
1 lb. (16 oz.) VELVEETA, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup butter, cut into small pieces

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients in slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray; cover with lid. Cook on LOW 2-1/2 to 3 hours (or on HIGH 1-1/2 to 2 hours). Turn slow cooker off. Stir macaroni and cheese; let stand, covered, 15 min. before serving.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality cheese: Velveeta is a processed cheese product, so it's important to use a good quality brand that melts well and has a smooth, creamy texture.
  • Shred your own cheese: Pre-shredded cheese often contains additives that can prevent it from melting smoothly. Shredding your own cheese ensures that you get a consistent texture and flavor.
  • Cook the macaroni al dente: You don't want the macaroni to be too soft, or it will become mushy when you add the cheese sauce.
  • Make a roux: A roux is a mixture of butter and flour that is used to thicken the cheese sauce. This will help to prevent the sauce from becoming too thin or runny.
  • Use milk or cream: Milk or cream will help to thin out the cheese sauce and make it more pourable. You can use whole milk, skim milk, or even heavy cream, depending on how rich you want the sauce to be.
  • Season the sauce to taste: Add salt, pepper, and other spices to taste. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little bit of heat.
  • Serve immediately: Macaroni and cheese is best served hot and fresh out of the oven. It can be reheated, but it won't be as good as when it's first made.

Conclusion:

Macaroni and cheese is a classic comfort food that is enjoyed by people of all ages. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own personal preferences. Whether you like it simple or cheesy, mild or spicy, there's a macaroni and cheese recipe out there for everyone.
