SPICY BLOODY MARY MIX

Spicy Bloody Mary Mix image

My father-in-law first introduced me to this homemade bloody mary mix. It is very similar to what you'd buy in a store. Made as is, it is very spicy. You can customize it to your taste by cutting back on the pepper and hot sauce; I like about half the pepper and hot sauce. Enjoy this wonderful mix! It is so easy and much cheaper than buying pre-made mix.

Time 7m

Yield 1/3 cup, 20 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 tablespoons green cardamom pods
2 tablespoons whole cloves
2 teaspoons black peppercorns
1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg (or mace, I use less allspice to be halal as nutmeg is an intoxicant)
1 teaspoon ground ginger (if possible use ground kholegan Zaar does not recognise, ginger is the substitute)
4 bay leaves

Steps:

  • Grind spices together in a coffee grinder or with a mortar and pestle.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality ingredients: Fresh, flavorful ingredients will result in a tastier spice mix.
  • Experiment with different spices: Don't be afraid to try new spices or combinations of spices. The possibilities are endless!
  • Toast the spices before grinding: This will help to release their flavor and aroma.
  • Use a coffee grinder or mortar and pestle to grind the spices: This will ensure that the spices are finely ground and evenly distributed.
  • Store the spice mix in an airtight container in a cool, dark place: This will help to preserve the flavor and aroma of the spices.

Conclusion:

Making your own spice mix is a great way to add flavor and variety to your cooking. With a little planning and experimentation, you can create a spice mix that is perfect for your taste. So next time you're looking for a way to spice up your meals, try making your own spice mix. You won't be disappointed!
