MAPLE BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES

Maple Butterscotch Brownies image

Generally, I'll make a double recipe of these brownies-they go so fast no matter where I take them! I've baked them for family dinners and church suppers, and never had any left over. They're very easy besides plus both keep and freeze well. I've been cooking since I was 10. My husband is retired, and we have four grown children.

Virgin Chocolate Chunk Brownies With Maple & Benton Bacon image

I created this recipe using whole grain pastry flour from Bobs Red Mill and Olive Oil from California Olive Ranch for a promo I was doing for them on my website 30A EATS. It was a big hit! Any Bacon or Maple Syrup will do, and if you want to leave out the Bacon you can. I love the sweet and salty flavor it gave to the brownies.

Time 30m

Yield 9 large brownies, 9-12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/3 cup cooked bacon

  • Preparation:.
  • Preheat the oven to 350F Line an 8-inch (20cm) square baking pan with foil and spray foil with cooking spray.
  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water. Whisk in the COR olive oil and set aside to cool slightly.

MAPLE BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES

Maple Butterscotch Brownies image

Brownies don't have to be made with chocolate in order to be delicious. These travel well in lunch boxes. I love the taste of these brownies. Perfect blend of maple and butterscotch. My hubby loves these and I make them often for him to bring some to work for the other guys.

Provided by Tammy Raynes

Categories     Cookies

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 c butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 c packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp maple flavoring
2 eggs
1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 c chopped walnuts
confectioners' sugar (powdered sugar)

Steps:

  • 1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add maple flavoring. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • 2. Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture. Stir in walnuts.
  • 3. Pour into a greased 9" square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the brownies will be. Use real butter, not margarine, and use a good quality cocoa powder.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the brownies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the brownies at the right temperature: The brownies should be baked at a moderate temperature so that they have a chance to rise and set properly.
  • Don't overbake the brownies: Overbaking the brownies will make them dry and crumbly. Bake them just until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them: This will help prevent them from falling apart.

Conclusion:

Maple brownies are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. They are rich, chocolatey, and have a hint of maple flavor. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect maple brownies every time. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, give maple brownies a try. You won't be disappointed!
