Tips:
- Prep your baking area: Preheat your oven and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat before you start mixing the dough. This will save you time and help ensure your twists bake evenly.
- Use room temperature butter: Cold butter can make your dough tough, so be sure to soften it to room temperature before you start mixing. You can do this by leaving it out on the counter for about 30 minutes or by microwaving it on low power for a few seconds.
- Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing can make your twists tough, so be careful not to overwork the dough. Mix the ingredients until they are just combined, then stop.
- Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes will help it hold its shape in the oven. You can also chill the dough overnight, if you prefer.
- Bake the twists until they are golden brown: The baking time will vary depending on the size of your twists, so keep an eye on them and remove them from the oven when they are golden brown.
