Tips:

  • Choose the freshest salmon possible. Fresh salmon will have a bright pink color and a mild, briny smell. Avoid salmon that is dull or has a strong, fishy odor.
  • Use a good-quality maple syrup. A dark, robust maple syrup will give your glaze a richer flavor than a light, mild syrup.
  • Don't overcook the salmon. Salmon is a delicate fish that cooks quickly. Overcooked salmon will be dry and tough.
  • Let the salmon rest before serving. Resting the salmon for a few minutes before serving will allow the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful fish.
  • Serve the salmon with your favorite sides. Roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, and rice are all great options.

Conclusion:

Maple rum glazed salmon is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight meal. The sweet and savory glaze pairs perfectly with the rich flavor of the salmon, and the rum adds a touch of sophistication. This dish is sure to impress your guests, and it's also a healthy and nutritious way to enjoy salmon.
