Tips:

  • Use a flavorful ground beef blend: A combination of ground chuck, ground sirloin, and ground pork creates a moist and flavorful meatloaf.
  • Add moisture and richness: Incorporate ingredients like eggs, bread crumbs, milk, and Worcestershire sauce to add moisture and richness to the meatloaf.
  • Season generously: Use a combination of herbs, spices, and seasonings to create a flavorful meatloaf. Common seasonings include garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Don't overmix: Overmixing the meatloaf can result in a tough texture. Mix the ingredients just until combined.
  • Shape the meatloaf properly: Form the meatloaf into a loaf shape and make sure it is evenly thick throughout to ensure even cooking.
  • Use a meatloaf pan or baking dish: Place the meatloaf in a meatloaf pan or baking dish to prevent the juices from overflowing during baking.
  • Bake at a high temperature initially: Start by baking the meatloaf at a high temperature (400°F) for 15-20 minutes to sear the outside and lock in the juices.
  • Reduce the temperature and continue baking: After the initial high-temperature baking, reduce the temperature to 350°F and continue baking until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing: Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute and prevent the meatloaf from falling apart.
