Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use beef chuck roast instead of stew meat. Chuck roast has more connective tissue, which breaks down during cooking and creates a more flavorful broth.
  • Browning the beef before adding it to the Instant Pot helps to develop its flavor and create a more savory stew.
  • If you don't have time to brown the beef beforehand, you can simply add it to the Instant Pot along with the other ingredients.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables to the stew, such as carrots, celery, or potatoes. You can also add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce or a bay leaf for extra flavor.
  • If you want a thicker stew, you can add a cornstarch slurry (equal parts cornstarch and water) to the stew after it has finished cooking. Bring the stew to a simmer and then stir in the cornstarch slurry until the stew has reached your desired consistency.

Conclusion:

This McCormick Instant Pot Beef Stew is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a busy weeknight. The beef is tender and flavorful, and the vegetables are cooked to perfection. The stew is also very versatile, so you can easily customize it to your own taste. Whether you like your stew thick or thin, with or without vegetables, this recipe is sure to please everyone at your table.
