Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will help you stay organized and avoid any mishaps.
  • Use fresh lemons: The fresher the lemons, the better the flavor of your cake will be. If you can, try to use organic lemons, as they will have a more intense flavor.
  • Zest the lemons finely: When you zest the lemons, be sure to do it finely. This will help the lemon flavor to be evenly distributed throughout the cake.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy: This will help to incorporate air into the batter, making the cake light and airy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time: This will help to prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients: Be sure to mix the dry ingredients into the batter gradually. This will help to prevent the batter from becoming too thick.
  • Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This will ensure that the cake is cooked through.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting: This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • Enjoy! Once the cake is frosted, you can enjoy it immediately or store it in the refrigerator for later.
