1 medium onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 jar (14 ounces) spaghetti sauce
1 cup water
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup canola oil
1 package (7 ounces) elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
2 cans (4 ounces each) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup soft bread crumbs
Additional mozzarella cheese, optional

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain. Add the spaghetti sauce, water, tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. 15 1/2 ounces sloppy joe sandwich sauce
14 1/2 ounces macaroni & cheese dinner mix
3/4 cup milk
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Coat 2-quart baking dish with cooking spray. In nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, cook beef until no longer pink, 3-5 minutes; spoon off fat. Stir in sloppy joe sauce; cook 5 minutes. 1 pound elbow macaroni with ridges
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 cups milk
2 cups grated sharp Cheddar
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Steps:

  • For the macaroni: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Bring 4 quarts of water to a boil in a large saucepan. Add the salt and macaroni. Bring the water back to a boil and cook the macaroni until tender, about 12 minutes. Drain well.
