Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line 12 count muffin tin with cupcake liners. In a large bowl, combine the beaten egg, milk, marinara sauce, uncooked quick cooking oats, ground turkey, Italian seasoning, garlic and bread crumbs.
- 2. Divide mixture into twelve equal portions. Insert one cheese cube into center of meat and roll in hands to form the meat around the cheese into a ball. Place into muffin tin and continue with remaining meat and cheese.
- 3. Top with a tablespoon (more or less depending on your preference) and shredded mozzarella cheese.
- 4. Bake uncovered on center oven rack for 25 minutes.
Tips:
- Use a variety of meats. This will give your meatloaves a more complex flavor. Good options include ground beef, pork, lamb, and veal.
- Don't overmix the meat. Overmixing can make the meatloaves tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Add some moisture to the meat mixture. This will help keep the meatloaves moist and juicy. Good options include bread crumbs, crackers, oats, or vegetables.
- Season the meat mixture well. Use a variety of herbs and spices to taste. Common Italian seasonings include garlic, onion, oregano, basil, and thyme.
- Shape the meat mixture into small loaves. Mini meatloaves are easier to cook and serve than large ones.
- Bake the meatloaves in a hot oven. This will help them brown and cook through quickly.
- Serve the meatloaves with your favorite sauce. Marinara sauce is a classic choice, but you can also try pesto, Alfredo, or any other sauce you like.
Conclusion:
Mini Italian meatloaves are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. They are also a great way to use up leftover meat. With a little planning, you can have a delicious and satisfying meal on the table in no time.
