6 potatoes
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 1/2 cups flour
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450.
  • Cut potatoes into wedges.
  • Mix the seasonings into the flour.
  • Mix the egg with the milk.
  • Dip potato wedges into milk and then dip into seasoned flour.
  • Place on greased baking pan.
  • Drizzle with oil.
  • Bake in oven 20-25 minutes until browned and tender. Serve hot.

Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes are the best choices for French fries because they have a high starch content and will produce crispy fries.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: This will help them cook evenly.
  • Soak the potatoes in cold water: This will remove excess starch and help the fries crisp up.
  • Dry the potatoes thoroughly: This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from sticking together.
  • Use a high-quality oil: A good option is vegetable oil, canola oil, or peanut oil.
  • Heat the oil to the right temperature: The oil should be hot enough to fry the potatoes without burning them. 325 degrees Fahrenheit is a good starting point.
  • Fry the potatoes in batches: This will prevent them from sticking together.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: This will also prevent the potatoes from sticking together.
  • Cook the potatoes until golden brown and crispy: This will take about 3-4 minutes.
  • Drain the potatoes on paper towels: This will remove excess oil.

Conclusion:

Mojo French fries are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. By following the tips above, you can make sure that your fries are crispy, golden brown, and irresistible. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty snack, give Mojo French fries a try.
