Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs image

These are the best I've had, short of the actual grilling method of course! This is a very simple recipe that I came up with a few years ago. It's not rocket science, just ribs cooked in the slow cooker and finished in the oven. This is what I do when I want ribs during the week and have to work all day. I'm eating them within a half-hour of getting home, and they turn out perfect every time!

Tips:

  • Start with high-quality ribs. Look for ribs that have good marbling and a nice red color.
  • Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs. This will help the ribs to cook more evenly.
  • Season the ribs generously with a rub of your choice. This will help to develop flavor and color.
  • Cook the ribs on low heat for a long period of time. This will help to tenderize the ribs and make them fall off the bone.
  • Baste the ribs with a sauce or glaze during the last hour of cooking. This will help to keep the ribs moist and flavorful.
  • Let the ribs rest for at least 10 minutes before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the ribs.

Conclusion:

Cooking ribs in a crock pot is a great way to achieve fall-off-the-bone tenderness. With a little planning and preparation, you can easily make delicious and flavorful ribs at home. So next time you're looking for an easy and delicious meal, give these crock pot ribs a try.
