1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
½ cup ketchup
2 teaspoons white sugar
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 (14.5 ounce) can Italian-style stewed tomatoes, undrained
3 pounds ground turkey
1 sleeve roasted vegetable-flavored buttery round crackers (such as Ritz®), crushed
1 onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried thyme
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

2 pounds ground turkey breast

Freshly ground black pepper
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the oats and milk. Thinly slice 1/4 of the onion and set aside. Finely chop the remaining onion. My family, and everyone I have ever served it too love it and can't believe that it is low fat, low cholesterol. And recently I started substituting oatmeal for bread crumbs since my husband's doctor put him on an even stricter diet than before. It is easy, there is no need to sauté the onions, bell pepper and garlic before mixing with the rest of the ingredients. It is also moist and very tasty. I usually serve with baked sweet potatoes and fresh green beans. It makes GREAT sandwiches the next day.

1 lb ground turkey breast
1/2 cup fat free egg substitute or 2 eggs
1/4 cup bell pepper, finely diced
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 teaspoon dried oregano

2 teaspoons bottled minced garlic or 6 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, divided
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 cup tomato sauce
3/4 cup rolled oats, not instant oatmeal
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Spray 9 x 5 loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine all ingredients except tomato sauce and 1 tbsp Worcestershire in large bowl and mix well.
  • Add more egg if too dry, or add more oatmeal crumbs if too wet.

  • If using 99% Fat Free ground turkey breast meat, there is no need to drain fat before pouring tomato sauce on and returning to oven.
  • If you use the regular ground turkey, which is about 7% fat you might want to drain the fat off before pouring the tomato sauce on the loaf.

3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup chicken broth
3 pounds ground turkey
2 large eggs
1/2 cup ketchup

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions, thyme, sage, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Cook, stirring often, until the onions are softened, about 10 minutes. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute more. Add the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, stirring to incorporate.   • Preheat oven to 350*.

My mom's classic meatloaf was lacking in flavor and the topping was way too sweet. This "better than mom's" version still has lots of old-school appeal but has been kicked up a notch with a rich and savory flavor, plus we said goodbye to the sugary sweet topping. Sliced meatloaf leftovers make the best sandwiches. I like mine with mustard, cheese, and grilled onions!

¾ cup minced onion
½ cup finely chopped bell pepper
½ cup milk
2 large eggs

¼ cup quick-cooking oats
⅛ cup cornmeal
1 cup dried bread crumbs
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon white sugar

½ cup water
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
1 dash liquid smoke flavoring
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
