Tips:

  • Use waxy potatoes: Waxy potatoes, such as Red Bliss or Yukon Gold, hold their shape better when boiled, making them ideal for potato salad.
  • Boil potatoes until tender: Potatoes should be cooked until they are easily pierced with a fork, but not so long that they become mushy.
  • Cool potatoes before dressing: Allow the potatoes to cool completely before adding the dressing. This will help prevent the potatoes from absorbing too much dressing and becoming soggy.
  • Use a light dressing: A light dressing, such as a vinaigrette or mayonnaise-based dressing, will allow the flavor of the potatoes to shine through.
  • Add mix-ins: Feel free to add your favorite mix-ins to the potato salad, such as chopped celery, onion, hard-boiled eggs, or bacon.
  • Chill before serving: Chill the potato salad for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.

Conclusion:

Nana Joann's Potato Salad is a classic recipe that is perfect for any potluck or gathering. With its simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, this potato salad is sure to be a hit.
