NONNY'S IMPERIAL COOKIES
This is my great grandma's recipe for butter cookies. They melt in your mouth. She always used Imperial brand margarine (hence the name) but they work well with butter also. These can be decorated with colored sugars before baking also.

IMPERIAL COOKIES
These are so good and so addictive! You have to use Imperial margarine. If you don't the batter makes a good crumble for topping and baking fruit, but it will not make cookies.

Tips:
- Chill the dough: Chilling the dough before baking helps the cookies hold their shape and prevents them from spreading too much.
- Use room temperature butter: Room temperature butter creams together with sugar more easily, resulting in a smoother cookie dough.
- Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough can make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the cookies at the right temperature: The ideal temperature for baking imperial cookies is 350°F (175°C). Baking them at a higher temperature will make them brown too quickly on the outside before they have a chance to cook through in the center.
- Let the cookies cool completely before storing them: This will help them keep their shape and prevent them from becoming crumbly.
Conclusion:
Imperial cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With their delicate flavor and crumbly texture, they are a perfect addition to any cookie platter. Whether you are a beginner baker or an experienced pro, you are sure to love this recipe. So next time you are looking for a sweet and satisfying snack, give these imperial cookies a try!
