Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh crab meat. If you're using canned crab meat, be sure to drain it well and flake it before using.
  • Use a good quality cheddar cheese. A sharp cheddar will give the crab cakes more flavor.
  • Be sure to chill the crab cakes before frying them. This will help them hold their shape.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when frying the crab cakes. This will prevent them from cooking evenly.
  • Serve the crab cakes immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Conclusion:

These Old English Crab Cheese Meltaways are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They're made with fresh crab meat, cheddar cheese, and a few simple spices. The crab cakes are then coated in breadcrumbs and fried until golden brown. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
