1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked
4 cups thinly sliced apples
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
¼ cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 ½ cups milk
1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 teaspoon lemon zest
¼ cup apricot preserves

Steps:

  • Place sliced apples in a large bowl and toss with sugar and lemon juice. Melt butter or margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Add apples to skillet and saute until tender. Allow to cool.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in 1 cup milk, pudding mix, and lemon rind. Add remaining 1/2 cup milk, and beat until smooth. Spread mixture into pastry shell. Arrange apples over cream cheese layer.

2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts
7 cups peeled, cored and sliced apples
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • In a bowl combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Place mixture in a pastry-lined 9 inch pie plate. Dot with butter and adjust top crust that has been vented.
  • Place in oven and bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 10 minutes. Turn oven temperature down to 275-300 degrees F (135-150 degrees C) and bake 40-50 minutes or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender. Let cool and serve.

1 tablespoon flour
1 cup whipping cream
1 cup half-and-half
3 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Steps:

  • In a two-quart bowl, mix the first 4 ingredients together.
  • Fold the beaten egg whites in until all are well mixed.
  • Pour into unbaked pie shell of 9inch pan.
  • Sprinkle nutmeg on top and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.

½ cup half-and-half cream

4 apples (20 oz)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

  • Pare, core and slice apples 1/4" thick and toss with lemon juice to keep from turning dark.
