1 cup vegitable oil
2 3/4 cup 10x-confectioners sugar
5 eggs
3 cups sifted cake flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup orange crush soda... no excpetions!
1 TSP vanilla extract
1 tsp orange extract

Steps:

  • 1. Cream together butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg. Beat until light and fluffy. Sift flour and salt together;alternately add ORANGE CRUSH/flour to creamed mixture. Stir in flavoring. Pour into tubed or bundt pan. Bake at 325* for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool cake slightly and spread frosting
  • 2. FROSTING: 1/2 teaspoon orange extract and 3 oz of cream cheese, soft. Combine and cream, Spread on warm cake

Tips:

  • Use fresh oranges for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh oranges, you can substitute 1 cup of orange juice concentrate, thawed, for the fresh orange juice in the cake batter and frosting.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the toothpick comes out with crumbs attached, the cake needs to bake longer.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it. This will help the frosting to set properly.
  • If you don't have time to make the frosting, you can use a store-bought orange-flavored frosting.

Conclusion:

Orange crush cake is a delicious and refreshing cake that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like your cake moist or dense, with a lot of frosting or just a little, this cake is sure to please everyone.
