Time 2h10m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (3 ounce) package lemon Jell-O gelatin
1 (3 ounce) package orange Jell-O
2 cups boiling water
1 (12 ounce) can frozen orange juice (355 ml)
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges (284 ml)
1 (15 ounce) can pineapple tidbits

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, pour 2 cups boiling water over the orange an lemon jello mixes.
  • Stir until dissolved.
  • Stir in tin of frozen orange juice.
  • Add 1 cup of the juice reserved from the mandarin oranges and canned pineapple.
  • Add the drained oranges and pineapple.
  • Pour into mold (or glass dish/decorative bowl).
  • Refrigerate until firm (2 hours or overnight).
  • Unmold and enjoy.
  • Cooking time is actually time spent waiting for gel to set.

Tips:

  • Choose the right oranges. For the best flavor, use fresh, ripe oranges. Avoid oranges that are bruised or have brown spots.
  • Zest your oranges. The zest of an orange is the flavorful outer layer of the peel. To zest an orange, use a citrus zester or a fine grater to remove the zest in long, thin strips.
  • Use fresh lemon juice. Lemon juice adds a bright, tart flavor to the jello dessert. Avoid using bottled lemon juice, as it can be bitter.
  • Chill the jello dessert thoroughly. The jello dessert needs to be chilled for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving. This will help it to set properly.
  • Serve the jello dessert with fresh fruit or whipped cream. Fresh fruit, such as oranges, grapefruit, or berries, can add a refreshing touch to the jello dessert. Whipped cream can also add a creamy, decadent flavor.

Conclusion:

Orange jello dessert is a classic dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its bright orange color, tangy flavor, and refreshing texture, it's the perfect dessert for any occasion. Whether you're serving it at a potluck, a family gathering, or a special occasion, this jello dessert is sure to be a hit.
