Categories     Fruit Desserts

Time 3h10m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pkg orange flavor jello gelatin (3 ounce size)
1 pkg cream cheese (8 ounce size)
1 can(s) crushed pineapple, drained well (20 ounce size)
1 c boiling water

Steps:

  • 1. In a small bowl, mix the Jello with the boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Pour into a blender or food processor.
  • 2. Add remaining ingredients except for the pineapple and blend on high until thoroughly mixed. Stir in pineapple.
  • 3. Pour into a Jello mold or an 8 X 8 dish and chill thoroughly until set. Cut into serving size pieces and serve or spoon into a dessert bowl with a dollop of whipped topping.

Tips:

  • Prep ahead: To make the dessert even easier, you can prep the fruit and sauce a day ahead. Simply store the fruit and sauce separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator until ready to assemble.
  • Choose ripe fruit: The riper the fruit, the sweeter and more flavorful your dessert will be. Look for oranges and pineapples that are heavy for their size and have bright, vibrant colors.
  • Use fresh or frozen fruit: You can use either fresh or frozen fruit for this dessert. If using frozen fruit, be sure to thaw it completely before using.
  • Don't overcook the sauce: The sauce should be thick and syrupy, but not too thick. Overcooking will make the sauce too thick and sticky.
  • Chill before serving: For the best flavor, chill the dessert for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.

Conclusion:

This orange pineapple dessert is a delicious and refreshing treat that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like it tart, sweet, or somewhere in between, this dessert is sure to please everyone. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy dessert, give this orange pineapple dessert a try. You won't be disappointed!
