CRANBERRY ORANGE VODKA
Steps:
- Directions Place cranberries, sugar and vanilla in a medium saucepan. Place pan over medium heat and stir. Simmer cranberry mixture until the berries burst, about 5 to 6 minutes. Place orange peels in a large glass container with an airtight lid, or large mason jars with lids. Pour vodka over the orange peels. Allow the cranberry mixture to cool. Pour the cooled mixture into the glass container(s). Cover tightly and set aside for 1 week. After 1 week, strain out the cranberries sand orange peels and pour mixture into a clean bottle, using a funnel. Store vodka in the refrigerator.
Tips:
- For the best flavor, use fresh oranges. If you don't have fresh oranges on hand, you can use frozen or canned orange juice concentrate, but the flavor will not be as good.
- Choose a good quality vodka. A bottom-shelf vodka will not produce a good-tasting orange vodka. Look for a vodka that is made from 100% grain and has a smooth, clean flavor.
- Infuse the vodka for at least 24 hours, but longer is better. The longer you infuse the vodka, the more orange flavor it will have.
- Store the orange vodka in a cool, dark place. It will keep for up to 6 months.
- Use orange vodka to make cocktails, add it to your favorite desserts, or enjoy it on its own.
Conclusion:
Orange vodka is a delicious and versatile spirit that can be used in a variety of cocktails and recipes. It's easy to make at home, and it makes a great gift for friends and family. Orange vodka is a flavorful and refreshing spirit that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you're enjoying it on its own, mixed in a cocktail, or added to your favorite dessert, orange vodka is sure to please.
